The Homeowner’s Goal

The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt:

  • Minimal and modern, with a high-end European aesthetic

  • Seamlessly integrated with panel-ready appliances

  • Durable for everyday use, but refined enough for entertaining

  • Installed with flawless fit-and-finish—tight lines, clean reveals, and perfect alignment

This was not an open-concept conversion. The scope was a full kitchen renovation centred on premium materials and exacting installation standards.

The client also wanted a microcement backsplash, which finished off this kitchen beautifully

What We Built

Elevation Renovations delivered a complete kitchen tear-out and rebuild with a focus on precision planning and execution:

  • Full demolition and reconstruction of the kitchen space

  • Poliform cabinetry installation requiring strict alignment and minimal tolerances

  • Concrete countertops for a matte, architectural finish with high durability

  • Detailed coordination of appliance placement, cabinetry, and wall installation

  • Specialty planning for a downdraft ventilation system, including vent routing and electrical coordination

The Biggest Challenges

1) Dedicated Electrical Circuits + Zero-Wiggle-Room Alignment

This kitchen required advanced electrical planning. Multiple appliances needed dedicated circuit runs, and the installation had very little to no wiggle room. Wall installation and cabinet positioning had to be exact so wiring harnesses lined up perfectly behind the cabinetry during final appliance installation.

2) Running Wiring and Venting for the Downdraft Hood Range

The most complex element of the build was routing electrical and venting to support the downdraft cooktop/ventilation system. These systems are unforgiving—planning must happen early, measurements must be exact, and trade sequencing has to be tight to avoid conflicts after cabinets and finishes are in place.

3) Overseas Lead Times (Italy) + A Missing Poliform Component

Because components were coming from Italy, lead times were a major factor. If anything was missing or incorrect, replacements could take months.

In this case, Poliform shorted a filler component in one section. The kitchen was functionally complete, but we needed a clean, professional interim solution while waiting for the official part. Elevation Renovations installed a temporary finished and edged melamine filler so the space remained presentable and protected until the correct replacement component arrived.

High-End Appliance Package

This Poliform kitchen renovation featured a homeowner-supplied, ultra-high-end appliance suite from Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Miele. Due to the level of integration and minimal installation tolerances, all appliances required dedicated electrical circuits, exact wall placement, and precise cabinet coordination to ensure wiring harnesses aligned perfectly.

Refrigeration & Ice

  • Sub-Zero 36″ Integrated Column Refrigerator – DEC3650R (Panel-Ready)

  • Sub-Zero 36″ Integrated Column Freezer with Internal Ice Maker – DEC3650FI / IC-36FI (Panel-Ready)

Cooking

  • Wolf 36″ Induction Cooktop – CI36560C/B (Contemporary, black glass)

  • Wolf 36″ Downdraft Ventilation System – DD36

  • Wolf 30″ M Series Professional Double Wall Oven – DO30PM/S/PH

Each appliance was installed flush within the Poliform cabinetry, leaving virtually no margin for error. The induction cooktop and downdraft ventilation system presented the greatest challenge, requiring complex electrical routing and venting coordination during early construction phases.

Because several components were sourced from Italy, lead times were a critical factor. When a Poliform filler component arrived short, Elevation Renovations fabricated and installed a temporary finished and edged melamine filler to allow full kitchen use while awaiting the correct replacement part.

Project Constraints

This renovation required careful risk management due to:

  • Tight installation tolerances with no margin for adjustment

  • Overseas sourcing with extended lead times

  • Complex electrical and venting coordination

  • A fixed construction timeline

Early-stage planning and contingency strategies were critical to keeping the project on schedule while maintaining finish quality.

Quality Control & Verification

Throughout the renovation, key milestones were reviewed to verify:

  • Electrical loads and dedicated circuit requirements

  • Appliance clearances and manufacturer specifications

  • Cabinet alignment, reveals, and panel consistency

  • Venting performance and airflow

Final verification ensured all systems performed as intended and aligned with manufacturer requirements before project closeout.

Who This Type of Kitchen Is Best For

This level of kitchen renovation is best suited for homeowners who:

  • Value precision and long-term durability

  • Are investing in premium European cabinetry

  • Expect exact alignment and integrated systems

  • Understand the planning required for high-end builds

If that’s you, this is the level of execution Elevation Renovations delivers.
